Signal Fruit LLC (“Signal Fruit”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the ReadME mobile application. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
- Article URLs you submit. When you paste a link, we send it to our server to extract the article text.
- Extracted article text. The text content of articles you queue is stored so we can synthesize and replay audio.
- Audio data. Synthesized audio is stored temporarily on our servers and cached on your device.
- Account information. If you sign in, we store your email address and a unique user ID provided by Supabase Auth.
- Subscription status. We receive purchase receipts from Apple and RevenueCat to verify active subscriptions. We do not store raw payment card data.
- App Tracking Transparency (ATT). On iOS, if you allow tracking, Apple may provide an advertising identifier used only to measure subscription performance. You can deny tracking when prompted.
- Usage data. Standard server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.
- Anonymous usage and crash diagnostics. We collect a small set of product events (app open, paste URL, extract success / failure, sign in, paywall view, trial start) and JavaScript exceptions so we can fix bugs and improve reliability. These events do not include article URLs, article text, your name, or your email address. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy → “Help improve ReadME”.
2. Free Trial (Server-Side)
New accounts receive a 7-day free period managed on our servers. This is not an App Store introductory offer. When you subscribe from the paywall, you are charged $9.99/yearimmediately through Apple's billing.
